Eugenio Colecchia had in the 80thth minute some difficulties stopping Luz Tejedor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Seggiano's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Eugenio Colecchia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafael Gallo in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eugenio Colecchia saved Seggiano from getting behind. Godo Møltoft fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. After 92 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Reyes. In the 98th minute, Rafael Gallo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eugenio Colecchia was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0.
