Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when André Monclús took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Francis in the 3rd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 3rd minute, Elpidio Francis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Elpidio Francis took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When André Monclús came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Monclús couldn't finish the play. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Francis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elpidio Francis struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Monclús, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Valentín Carvallo got a free kick in the 30th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Arnaldo Gabon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Gabon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute, Elpidio Francis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. André Monclús recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. Lautaro Navarro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Elpidio Francis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 51 minute of play. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Esteban Iztal in the 55th minute. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Monclús, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were awarded a corner. Esteban Iztal went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's corner Esteban Iztal fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lautaro Navarro quite easily take care of the ball. In the 67th minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. André Monclús's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 0-7 after 75 minutes of play. 77 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Monclús. 82 minutes into the game, André Monclús recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lautaro Navarro. André Monclús showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. In the 87th minute, André Monclús ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. Valentín Carvallo hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 92 minutes of play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis made it 0-10 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
