Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Atlético de Caracas were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gabirel Caceo took the corner. 6 minutes into the match, Atlético de Caracas's goalkeeper Zarando Calva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Zarando Calva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Piero Hincapié hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Rolando Alley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After 15 played minutes Atlético de Caracas got a freekick which was hit by Piero Hincapié. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Atlético de Caracas defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zarando Calva. The Atlético de Caracas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zarando Calva should have stopped the shot. In the 24th minute Atlético de Caracas were awarded a corner. Gabirel Caceo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Atlético de Caracas's Gabirel Caceo to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Rolando Alley put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Sotil in the 28th minute of play. Zarando Calva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Atlético de Caracas's Aires Laguno was substituted for Nazmija Stojković. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rolando Alley to strike the kick off in the second half. Tom Wassenius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético de Caracas's Aires Laguno. But to his dismay, Aires Laguno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 59th minute of play forced Atlético de Caracas's goalkeeper Zarando Calva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zarando Calva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Piotr Moizuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético de Caracas's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zarando Calva came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zarando Calva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aires Laguno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atlético de Caracas's Zarando Calva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 72nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agustín Saelices during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zarando Calva was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rolando Alley. Rolando Alley received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Rolando Alley slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 83rd minute. Atlético de Caracas made a substitution. Nuno Santarém replaced Rolando Alley. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zarando Calva having to interfere. In the 93rdth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético de Caracas's Zarando Calva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Santarém, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Ecuador supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Atlético de Caracas's performance. The match ended with a win for Atlético de Caracas.
