Sébastien Frey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Rozarius in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Brujas KV's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ermegildo Errolan was slow to take the kick. During this time TORQUE F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. The corner led TORQUE F.C.'s Tomás Cordarin to fire away a dangerous shot which Jean-Marie Pfaff despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jean-Marie Pfaff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Abancens, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Sébastien Frey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Rozarius, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, TORQUE F.C.'s Tomás Cordarin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jean-Marie Pfaff narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adrian Naelio hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the game, Jairo Jakes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brujas KV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TORQUE F.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, Brujas KV's Jairo Jakes got a free kick in the 34th minute. Tomás Cordarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Marie Pfaff read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After 41 minutes, Romulo Estebano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TORQUE F.C. and the Brujas KV players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th minute, one of TORQUE F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for TORQUE F.C.. TORQUE F.C.:s Sébastien Frey showed great skill when he stopped Torrey Molloy:s penalty. In the 42nd minute, Torrey Molloy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brujas KV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 46 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Cordarin came free, but Jean-Marie Pfaff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Brujas KV's Ilkay Gündoğan was substituted for Martin Mundo. Brujas KV made a substitution. Jan Ceulemans replaced Bernardino Blai. The wind increased when Tomás Cordarin made the kick off in the second half. Adrian Naelio made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jan Ceulemans however managed to control. Sébastien Frey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torrey Molloy in the 64th minute of the match. Tomás Cordarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Marie Pfaff read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 73rd minute of the match TORQUE F.C. got a corner. Brujas KV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ermegildo Errolan ran over to the corner to take the kick. TORQUE F.C.'s Ermegildo Errolan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jean-Marie Pfaff in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Tomás Cordarin came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the TORQUE F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Cordarin couldn't finish the play. Brujas KV made a substitution. Conrado Romero replaced Torrey Molloy. Jean-Marie Pfaff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Cordarin in the 82nd minute of the match. Conrado Romero scored 4-2 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sébastien Frey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Cordarin in the 94th minute of play forced Brujas KV's goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. TORQUE F.C.'s Sébastien Frey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Ceulemans in the 96th minute of play.
