Brujas KV's Jean-Marie Pfaff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Crouch in the 15th minute of play. In the 24th minute of the match, Bernardino Blai got a very nice opportunity to score, but Qin Fan Sheng was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Brujas KV's zone, Peter Crouch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Marie Pfaff came out of the goal and Peter Crouch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Qin Fan Sheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torrey Molloy, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Crouch came free, but Jean-Marie Pfaff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jean-Marie Pfaff stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Peter Crouch's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute ZORZAL01 were awarded a corner. Pavel Nedvěd went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led ZORZAL01's Pavel Nedvěd to fire away a dangerous shot which Jean-Marie Pfaff despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 39 minutes into the game, ZORZAL01's Peter Crouch nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean-Marie Pfaff made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Peter Crouch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Brujas KV's Jan Ceulemans was substituted for Bernardino Blai. The wind increased when Torrey Molloy made the kick off in the second half. Ilkay Gündoğan made in the 57th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ZORZAL01's Pavel Nedvěd. The supporters of ZORZAL01 booed when Brujas KV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Jakes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute, Pablo Roso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pavel Nedvěd, 88 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Peter Crouch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jean-Marie Pfaff. Brujas KV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Peter Crouch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 93rd minute Conrado Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qin Fan Sheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Domingo Gutxi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ZORZAL01 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ZORZAL01 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
