The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victor Negara was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. If Manole Frunză had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexandru Tudorică. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Frunză in the 91st minute of play. The supporters of Chile booed when Rovine Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costică Ştefănescu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
