To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Achille Passerini made a throw-in in the 70th minute of the game. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Musko Cuevas in the 73rd minute of the match. Donato Ali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The supporters of Schuster booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Fraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
