Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Cable a Tierra's Betão Prestes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Bertassi in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Leonides Telesforo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Leonides Telesforo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cable a Tierra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arrigo Corvo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Cable a Tierra's Claudio Echeverri dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Claudio Echeverri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonides Telesforo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 28 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Leonides Telesforo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute. Narciso Bertassi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Gavino Egoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonides Telesforo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavino Egoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Claudio Echeverri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th match minute, Cable a Tierra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulão Laguna to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute, Claudio Echeverri made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavino Egoi in the 79th minute of play. Cable a Tierra were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Betão Prestes took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Gavino Egoi heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Narciso Bertassi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudio Echeverri in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 92 minutes into the game, Claudio Echeverri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 95 minutes into the game, Arrigo Corvo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cable a Tierra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Arrigo Corvo kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
