Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Trabzonspor's Alejo Otsando started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ataman Kutun was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 3rd minute. Trabzonspor's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 4 played minutes Alejo Otsando rounded Costa Rica's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Utku İnegöllü kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alejo Otsando in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. 14 minutes into the game, Alejo Otsando recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Alejo Otsando showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. After 20 minutes, Alejo Otsando made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26thth minute of the game Axel Tasis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trabzonspor's Yunus Civan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Alejo Otsando sent off a good shot on target. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejo Otsando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Alejo Otsando reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 5-0. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Alejo Otsando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After 45 played minutes Trabzonspor got a freekick which was hit by Kutluay Özcan. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Hugo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute, Alejo Otsando made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alejo Otsando in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alejo Otsando might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alejo Otsando ran back to his position shaking his head. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejo Otsando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Alejo Otsando came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejo Otsando in the 63rd minute of the match. When Trabzonspor's Alejo Otsando in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejo Otsando, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute, Alejo Otsando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Trabzonspor's Vacid Oğuzata was substituted for Lucio Claus. Raşit Timuroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 74th minute Raşit Timuroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raşit Timuroz in the 79th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. 81 minutes into the game, Trabzonspor's Raşit Timuroz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. The supporters of Trabzonspor booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raşit Timuroz took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. In the 90th minute, Raşit Timuroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raşit Timuroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ivo Waard was slow to take the kick. During this time Trabzonspor's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Trabzonspor's corner Ivo Waard fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benito Sanz quite easily take care of the ball. If Raşit Timuroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Trabzonspor players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
