Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saul Piarres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Schuster's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Casaus came free, but Donato Ali reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Musko Cuevas in the 23rd minute of play. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Schuster's goalkeeper Donato Ali, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 43 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donato Ali was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Chile booed when Schuster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Musko Cuevas didn't get a good kick on the ball.

In the 96th minute, Chile's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after 麦坤竞 fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the final whistle sounded Schuster left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Chile.
