The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, Malmö White Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Johnny Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Malmö White Knights's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Alonso Berganza advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 14th minute. Malmö White Knights's Johnny Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of play. Julian Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the match, Malmö White Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Johnny Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 33rd minute. Milagros Fraga made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Malmö White Knights's Johnny Banks managed to reach the ball for a save. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Rolando Noboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 51st minute of play forced Malmö White Knights's goalkeeper Johnny Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Elvijs Presley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 53rd minute Elvijs Presley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute, Elvijs Presley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malmö White Knights fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Malmö White Knights's Jim Ahlroht got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Emmanuel Reyes in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Malmö White Knights's Olívio Meireles. Joaquin Prats's late challenge caught a Malmö White Knights's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When the referee blew the final whistle, Malmö White Knights could leave the field as winners, despite Peru having more of the ball for most of the match.
