Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 21st minute, Epifanio Orlan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 3-0. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Petrică Ştefoi. Petrică Ştefoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 41stth minute of the game Epifanio Orlan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Epifanio Orlan during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Epifanio Orlan hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Epifanio Orlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Epifanio Orlan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. With his leg Petrică Ştefoi managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Petrică Ştefoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 60th minute. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petrică Ştefoi was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Epifanio Orlan in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Club Atletico Juanita were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Benigno Lopes took the corner. 80 minutes into the game, Victorino Bemabe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atletico Juanita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Club Atletico Juanita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorino Bemabe didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petrică Ştefoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Petrică Ştefoi in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Epifanio Orlan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Club Atletico Juanita had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
