Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kim Hänninen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kim Hänninen. The goal made the score 1-0. Zlatko Ibrahimović scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kim Hänninen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Kim Hänninen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Wiktor Gomolka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Kim Hänninen made a huge save. Kim Hänninen made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. If Wiktor Gomolka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiktor Gomolka in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of Fragleses booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haralampi Smrikarov in the 47th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Zlatko Ibrahimović came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zlatko Ibrahimović in the 56th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kim Hänninen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zlatko Ibrahimović in the 63rd minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Kim Hänninen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fragleses made a substitution. Grzegorz Rasiak replaced Zlatko Ibrahimović. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 92 minutes of play, Fragleses's Grzegorz Rasiak made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Grzegorz Rasiak might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grzegorz Rasiak ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Fragleses to leave the ground with a draw.
