Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Flavio Miconi, made in the 4th minute of the game. 4 minutes into the match, Eliseo Mina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donato Ali. Schuster's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseo Mina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Peru's Julian Murillo in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Schuster's goalie prevented a goal. The throw-in from 麦坤竞 in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 17 minutes into the match, Luz Tejedor notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Schuster's Donato Ali. Donato Ali was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Ali read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Musko Cuevas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rolando Noboa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Donato Ali made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 23rd minute of play. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Schuster's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Donato Ali reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donato Ali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Schuster's Donato Ali was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donato Ali was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. 33 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Richy Hensmans came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Schuster's Donato Ali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Bezerra in the 38th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Mauro Bezerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Mauro Bezerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The throw-in from 麦坤竞 in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. After a defensive mix-up in Schuster's zone, Luz Tejedor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Ali came out of the goal and Luz Tejedor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The supporters of Peru booed when Schuster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Achille Passerini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Donato Ali made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Schuster's Flavio Miconi got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the last second Donato Ali throw himself and got hold of the ball when Julian Murillo in the 66thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The throw-in from Flavio Miconi in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Schuster's goalkeeper Donato Ali, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
