Atlético de Caracas were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gabirel Caceo took the corner. Atlético de Caracas played a much better game than Venezuela and deserved their victory. The Venezuela players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
