The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 15thth minute of the game Caetano Messias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Casaus got free with Chi Tzalov in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chile were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after FC BaLiSt's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. The corner led Chile's Mariano Lacasa to fire away a dangerous shot which Chi Tzalov despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Aron Olteanu hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. FC BaLiSt's Chi Tzalov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save FC BaLiSt from getting a goal against them. The corner led to Chile's Orlando Casaus getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After a rather tough play, FC BaLiSt's Claudiu Cârțan got a free kick in the 28th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Xavier Figueroa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Xavier Figueroa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chi Tzalov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caetano Messias got free with Thiago Pliego in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC BaLiSt made a substitution. Petrică Burnei replaced Pascual Colon. After 86 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Casaus. Chi Tzalov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 89th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Chi Tzalov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC BaLiSt's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
