Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laureano Cresenciano in the 9th minute. With an all-out effort, FC BaLiSt's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aron Olteanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A wasted opportunity for FC BaLiSt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 22nd minute of play forced FC BaLiSt's goalkeeper Chi Tzalov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Messias came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laureano Cresenciano in the 32nd minute of the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Olteanu in the 35th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grigore Zberea, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Laureano Cresenciano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laureano Cresenciano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 45th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chi Tzalov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when FC BaLiSt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olimpiu Mercescu didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Caetano Messias was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Grigore Zberea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC BaLiSt fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After some careless play in the FC BaLiSt defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chi Tzalov. The FC BaLiSt fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chi Tzalov should have stopped the shot. After having played for 59 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC BaLiSt made a substitution. Traian Nanu replaced Mihăiţă Șeicaru. A hard shot by Joel Gaona from long distance, 66 minutes into the match, got Chi Tzalov's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olimpiu Mercescu in the 68th minute of play. The corner ended in Laureano Cresenciano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa did a great save. Joel Gaona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Chi Tzalov made a huge save. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yang Wei in the 80th minute of play. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by FC BaLiSt's Grigore Zberea. But to his dismay, Grigore Zberea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Chi Tzalov firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC BaLiSt fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mexico had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
