The Honduras fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 19 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Rüstem Balaman came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Birsel Tanyıldız was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, YeniMalatyaSpor's Ahmet Fikret Ünsan got a free kick in the 24th minute. 30 minutes into the match, YeniMalatyaSpor's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Birsel Tanyıldız reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Moises Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Birsel Tanyıldız made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, YeniMalatyaSpor's Ahmet Fikret Ünsan got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With his leg Birsel Tanyıldız managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 57th minute, YeniMalatyaSpor's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Moises Tafalla fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Edmundo Espiga sped through YeniMalatyaSpor's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Birsel Tanyıldız. Birsel Tanyıldız didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmundo Espiga went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birsel Tanyıldız saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmundo Espiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Birsel Tanyıldız when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 91 minutes into the match, YeniMalatyaSpor's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Birsel Tanyıldız reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Birsel Tanyıldız saved YeniMalatyaSpor from getting behind. Honduras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
