Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carolo Baudelio during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carolo Baudelio kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carolo Baudelio in the 16th minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Raymundo having to interfere. Dario Iratzeder hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 22 minutes in the game Arsenio Polo did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Isaias Ixaka. In the 30th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to ♠ ∂є вι¢нσѕ у ƒℓσяєѕ ♠ getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. With a little luck, ♠ ∂є вι¢нσѕ у ƒℓσяєѕ ♠'s Tomas Raymundo got control of the ball when Axel Tasis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Denis Ado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Alexander Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alexander Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. After 70 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Carballo. Isaias Ixaka's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 74thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Carolo Baudelio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 79 minute of play. Tomas Raymundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of ♠ ∂є вι¢нσѕ у ƒℓσяєѕ ♠ booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position.
