Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of play forced Cormoranii -MM-'s goalkeeper Dino Zoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cormoranii -MM-'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcel Vulpe in the 6th minute. A nice corner shot did that Marcel Vulpe got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Cormoranii -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Dino Zoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dino Zoff. Cormoranii -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 25th minute, Costel Diaconu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dino Zoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Zoff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Cormoranii -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Dino Zoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dino Zoff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornel Panaitescu in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute of the match Marcel Vulpe sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. 55 minutes into the game, Costel Diaconu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cormoranii -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Costel Diaconu hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cormoranii -MM-'s goalkeeper Dino Zoff, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 61st minute Cornel Panaitescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valer Uduleanu in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dino Zoff was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valer Uduleanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
