The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yan Sha Yin in the 6th minute. Laboon SK's Şener Irmak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 8th minute of play. After 10 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Şener Irmak was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Laboon SK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. 16 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yan Sha Yin. In the 18th minute, Yan Sha Yin made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Şener Irmak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Laboon SK getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Trifon Ivanov hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita shot from long distance after 28 played minutes, a shot that Şener Irmak with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. Şener Irmak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yan Sha Yin in the 36th minute. With 39 minutes on the clock, Mihkel Äss commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 42 minutes, Antonio Arias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Laboon SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A long shot from Kingsley Coman in the 43rd minute of play was well struck, but Julio Vera made a really good save at the right post. In the 44th minute Laboon SK were awarded a corner. Kingsley Coman went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 48 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yan Sha Yin. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Şener Irmak came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 72nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Şener Irmak. That made the score 3-4 after 81 minutes of play. The Laboon SK fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Laboon SK's Gökdeniz Karadeniz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 93rd minute Yan Sha Yin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
