Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 36th minute of the match Efrain Moruga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nilton Marinho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Gabriel Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Aaron Alcocer was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 41 minutes had been played.
