Gijs ter Averst was left in no man's land by his defense there! 9 minutes into the game, Tomas Vondel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Revenge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. In the 10th minute, Tomas Berganza reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gijs ter Averst. The goal made the score 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Panama's Tomas Berganza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gijs ter Averst. That made the score 4-0 after 18 minutes of play. The supporters of Revenge booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Cambeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gijs ter Averst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Barrios to maneuver through the defense. After 33 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Dylan Sarmiento. Abraham Alguacil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gijs ter Averst read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Isidoro Sarmiento struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Gijs ter Averst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. Gijs ter Averst made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 38th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Revenge fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! Revenge:s Gijs ter Averst showed great skill when he stopped Abraham Alguacil:s penalty. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gijs ter Averst having to interfere. Revenge's Gijs ter Averst proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Revenge from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rick Theisens to make the kick off. After 54 minutes of play Revenge's Tomas Vondel was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Gijs ter Averst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 56th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gijs ter Averst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 60th minute of play forced Revenge's goalkeeper Gijs ter Averst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Isidoro Sarmiento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gijs ter Averst was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Rick Theisens hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Gijs ter Averst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 67th minute of the match. Gijs ter Averst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Cambeiro hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After 89 minutes Revenge's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abraham Alguacil who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Abraham Alguacil got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gijs ter Averst quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gijs ter Averst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Tomas Berganza took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gijs ter Averst. Gijs ter Averst dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. If Alex Cambeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Panama were the better team. Panama's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
