Thiago Pliego had in the 29thth minute some difficulties stopping Noe Seedorf's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Noe Seedorf kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Radiohead Freaks Club's Thom Threepwood got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Cayo Mario had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cayo Mario was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayo Mario in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thom Threepwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Radiohead Freaks Club's Noe Seedorf got a free kick in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cayo Mario in the 53rd minute of the match. Beti Roman was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thom Threepwood read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xusto Hidalgo in the 95th minute.
