The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Lautaro Mancebo could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Xencio Millan however easily saved by the left post. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nunez Larra in the 35th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Nunez Larra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nunez Larra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 42nd minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Facundo Cadaval heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely.

Luca Zorita hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Cardiff City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Xencio Millan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xencio Millan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. Xencio Millan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The Mexico supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cardiff City FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cardiff City FC.
