The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Barros in the 3rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orlando Tafalla hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serafim Barros in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pedro Manzanares was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Serafim Barros capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Serafim Barros really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 11th minute, Éder Madureira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pedro Manzanares. The goal made the score 2-0. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Éder Madureira in the 18th minute of play. Benedito Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Abram Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Orlando Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafim Barros in the 25th minute of play. After 25 played minutes Sagarana Clube got a freekick which was hit by Wilson Valladares. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rupert Dearden during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Colombia were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Sagarana Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Montenegro took the corner. Colombia's Pascual Carballar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benedito Trigo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yu Yang Sang made a kick off. With his leg Benedito Trigo managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when Colombia's Axel Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Éder Madureira in the 52nd minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Sagarana Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Mastache came free, but Benedito Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rupert Dearden hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sagarana Clube's Rupert Dearden got a free kick in the 59th minute. Rupert Dearden got his second yellow card in the match during the 63rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Benedito Trigo threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joshua Garrido, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Sagarana Clube getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Beto Heidemann hit a great ball. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. In the 67th minute, Beto Heidemann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the game, Abram Secada recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benedito Trigo. Benedito Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 74th minute of the match. Sagarana Clube's Fabrício de Alcântara was substituted for Zé Roberto da Costa. Benedito Trigo made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Abram Secada sent off a good shot on target. Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascual Carballar in the 86th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abram Secada got free with Benedito Trigo in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Abram Secada took a quick shot and it went in 4-4 without a chance for Benedito Trigo to make any attempt to save it. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Salles in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute of the match, Abram Secada got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benedito Trigo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
