Despite this Hans-Joachim Amerhauser quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Forza Heppenbach's Edgar Ciolofan got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute of the match Forza Heppenbach got a corner. Club Atlético Ituzaingó's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Brent Desmet ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Karl-Michael Almqvist got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Duarte de Sena quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 29th minute, Stephan Appiah ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duarte de Sena was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Stephan Appiah made a precise shot to the right of Duarte de Sena. Club Atlético Ituzaingó's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Karl-Michael Almqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Duarte de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duarte de Sena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fulgencio Nikola was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute Stephan Appiah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Frechoso in the 59th minute of play forced Forza Heppenbach's goalkeeper Hans-Joachim Amerhauser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fulgencio Nikola in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hans-Joachim Amerhauser saved Forza Heppenbach from getting behind. If Bernardo Salbatore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Ituzaingó's Clodoveo Sugoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
