Carhue's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 17th match minute, Carhue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anibal Diaz to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brent-Jan Kindermans got free with Julio Vera in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brent-Jan Kindermans's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brent-Jan Kindermans. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Angel Xacintu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 38 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Petre Zărnescu who took care of the corner kick. Petre Zărnescu made a great header on Carhue's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 40th match minute, Carhue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles De Ketelaere to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brent-Jan Kindermans, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brent-Jan Kindermans in the 54th minute of play. When Brent-Jan Kindermans came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Carhue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brent-Jan Kindermans couldn't finish the play. Carhue made a substitution. Justo Egoitz replaced Petre Zărnescu. After 61 minutes Carhue's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Angel Xacintu quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 64th minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Angel Xacintu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 minutes of play Carhue's Charles De Ketelaere was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 70th minute, Charles De Ketelaere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brent-Jan Kindermans, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brent-Jan Kindermans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xu Wei hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angel Xacintu. Angel Xacintu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Agustín Saelices scored 1-2 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angel Xacintu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Carhue.
