The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adrian Lohitzun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Hvalica in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Oihan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 10th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Club Deportivo Álvarez getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Osvaldo Oihan hit a great ball. Eriberto Enol came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Miguel Ángel Hvalica notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Club Deportivo Álvarez booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute Juan Hvalica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Juan Hvalica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Lohitzun got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 45th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Álvarez's goalkeeper Eriberto Enol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Álvarez's Victoriano Berto got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Lohitzun in the 57th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Hvalica in the 62nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute Juan Hvalica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Juan Hvalica fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportivo Álvarez's protests and gave Juan Hvalica a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute, Juan Hvalica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Eriberto Enol didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. 75 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Oihan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportivo Álvarez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Club Deportivo Álvarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Oihan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Hvalica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Osvaldo Oihan was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. In the 80th match minute, Club Deportivo Álvarez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Oihan to maneuver through the defense. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Gaston Iigo was substituted for Adrian Lohitzun. In the 84thth minute of the game Juan Hvalica who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Ángel Hvalica went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Hvalica in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Gaston Iigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club Deportivo Álvarez's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
