Yunus Mahşer hit a great ball. 4 minutes into the match, Enrique Cassaretto notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Aureliano Buendia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CD Municipal's George Forsyth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Tulio Andinyach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 minutes of play, CD Municipal's Enrique Cassaretto made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 15th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Enrique Cassaretto notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the game, Enrique Cassaretto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 30th minute, Tulio Andinyach made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with George Forsyth in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 played minutes CD Municipal got a freekick which was hit by Aureliano Buendia. If Enrique Cassaretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half CD Municipal were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. George Forsyth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, CD Municipal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aureliano Buendia to maneuver through the defense. 62 minutes into the match, CD Municipal's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but George Forsyth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Panama's Miguel Miralles got a free kick in the 66th minute. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Oalo Dean tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcos Cotilla was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Ryota Miyagi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ryota Miyagi really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. In the 76th minute, Oalo Dean left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CD Municipal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Huidobro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryota Miyagi in the 86th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes of play, CD Municipal's Ryota Miyagi made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by CD Municipal's Ryota Miyagi. But to his dismay, Ryota Miyagi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. 95 minutes into the match, CD Municipal's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but George Forsyth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Panama fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CD Municipal were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
