Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksandr Vasyutin having to interfere. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Constantin-Maximilian Vennegoor Of Hesselink kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Constantin-Maximilian Vennegoor Of Hesselink stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Kees Koole recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Constantin-Maximilian Vennegoor Of Hesselink tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 65thth minute of the game Kees Koole who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The long shot by Berend Hermensen in the 74th minute really tested Benito Sanz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Eliseo Noboa fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Eliseo Noboa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Constantin-Maximilian Vennegoor Of Hesselink got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Kees Koole had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 84 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kees Koole, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kees Koole in the 87th minute of play. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Berend Hermensen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Berend Hermensen really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Revenge's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
