Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hannes Kjellqvist ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Rasmus Mårtensson managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The supporters of Mexico booed when Henley Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicola van Bommel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henley Utd's Edvin Jonsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Henley Utd's goalkeeper Edvin Jonsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin Jonsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Lautaro Mancebo sped through Henley Utd's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edvin Jonsson. Dante Lacasa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rasmus Mårtensson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 29 minute of play. Luca Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edvin Jonsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Luca Rouco was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joakim Bergsten in the 43rd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Richarlison de Andrade to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richarlison de Andrade in the 51st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52nd minute, Joel Gaona reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edvin Jonsson. The goal made the score 2-2. Edvin Jonsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The Henley Utd fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Henley Utd's Rasmus Mårtensson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Henley Utd's Edvin Jonsson did a great save.
