Dênis Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Dênis Tepedino might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dênis Tepedino ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd match minute, Superação was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aloísio Falcão to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the game, Camilo Gaos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Superação the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andrézinho Mota was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After 79 played minutes Superação got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Fonseca. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Mota in the 83rd minute of play. In the 86th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute Dênis Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
