Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fellipe Meira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 23rd minute of play forced Superação's goalkeeper Fellipe Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Superação's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luis Andino made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Superação's Fellipe Meira managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 26th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Fellipe Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Dênis Tepedino took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. A collision led to Superação getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Miguel Ferreira hit a great ball. After 80 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fellipe Meira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Fellipe Meira made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Superação's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fellipe Meira came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fellipe Meira. The goal made the score 1-3. The Superação fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
