Federico Belarmo hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Hector Covarrubias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Rene Estevon made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albino Santo in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacobo Nores prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albino Santo's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. When Primitivo Escribano fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Primitivo Escribano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 25th minute, Albino Santo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sarandí Fútbol Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alan Campos hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Evaristo Nardo struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarandí Fútbol Club. After 34 played minutes Sarandí Fútbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Federico Belarmo. Primitivo Escribano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Santo in the 41st minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Sarandí Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santos Urbes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Escribano to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Estevon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Federico Belarmo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rene Estevon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Estevon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pardo in the 87th minute of play forced Sarandí Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Rene Estevon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Sarandí Fútbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Rene Estevon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Paraguay manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Sarandí Fútbol Club to win.
