An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 12th minute of play forced Vila Nova FC's goalkeeper Fiori Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jiang Nan Han received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute Luca Postelnicescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Postelnicescu in the 22nd minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Luca Postelnicescu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mete Nared got free with Thiago Pliego in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 minutes Vila Nova FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Francisco Carballar managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 34 minutes into the match, Vila Nova FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Carballar came free, but Fiori Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vila Nova FC's Fiori Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 37th minute of play. Mete Nared could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléber Basso in the 41st minute of the match. After 42 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fiori Mota was left in no man's land by his defense there! 2-1 became the score in the 46th minute when Luca Postelnicescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Lacasa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fiori Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mete Nared, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Francisco Carballar hit a great ball. Mete Nared scored 3-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thiago Pliego, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Postelnicescu in the 73rd minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Vladimir Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 80 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Mete Nared came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
