Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Apoena Ocaña started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apoena Ocaña in the 3rd minute of play. When Apoena Ocaña came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Rayo Tharkad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Apoena Ocaña couldn't finish the play. Rayo Tharkad's Adolfo Hevia was substituted for Hondo Arratia. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Apoena Ocaña in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manolo Lacorte's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 17th match minute, Rayo Tharkad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Hevia to maneuver through the defense. After 23 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Seco. After 26 minutes of play, Rayo Tharkad's Manolo Lacorte made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 28 played minutes Rayo Tharkad got a freekick which was hit by Antimo Negro. After having played for 29 minutes, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Rayo Tharkad's Feliciano Roig got a free kick in the 30th minute. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apoena Ocaña in the 34th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Rayo Tharkad's Apoena Ocaña. But to his dismay, Apoena Ocaña quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Rune Snäll showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Rayo Tharkad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Dorado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rune Snäll made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th minute of the match Uruguay got a corner. Rayo Tharkad's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaime Cazalla ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Uruguay's Francisco Seco to fire away a dangerous shot which Rune Snäll despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. Gilesindo Alonso made in the 51st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Humberto Leon immediately put the ball in play. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apoena Ocaña in the 55th minute of the match. Rayo Tharkad's Macerio Caballero was substituted for Antimo Negro. In the 58th minute Rayo Tharkad were awarded a corner. Zumar Figueroa went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Adolfo Hevia heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The Rayo Tharkad fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Rayo Tharkad's Apoena Ocaña looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apoena Ocaña, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute of the match Juan Bermejo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gayoso skillfully saved the ball. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Rune Snäll tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Apoena Ocaña's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Joaquin Gayoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alberto Gisbert charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Gisbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manolo Lacorte got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Apoena Ocaña in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Apoena Ocaña struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rayo Tharkad. A hard shot 83 in the game by Manolo Lacorte from a close distance when the talented Joaquin Gayoso managed to make a qualified save. Uruguay's players were relieved. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manolo Lacorte in the 94th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rayo Tharkad eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
