Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valter Wallgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valter Wallgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ola Håkansson in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Woopbongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Månsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ola Håkansson in the 28th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valter Wallgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valter Wallgren came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 37th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valter Wallgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valter Wallgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Mats Gerdberg got his second yellow card in the match during the 41st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Mats Gerdberg hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Albohm during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Woopbongo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Albohm to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Woopbongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rutger Billberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valter Wallgren came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Edgar Albohm kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valter Wallgren having to interfere. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Ola Håkansson struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Woopbongo. After 66 played minutes Woopbongo got a freekick which was hit by André Törnqvist. In the 66th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valter Wallgren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Woopbongo's goalkeeper Valter Wallgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. 69 minutes into the match, Woopbongo's goalkeeper Valter Wallgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices. In the 81stth minute of the game Ola Håkansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ola Håkansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Woopbongo's Edgar Albohm got a free kick in the 85th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Woopbongo's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Valter Wallgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
