With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tudor Balțoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tudor Balțoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Villa, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Sebastian Villa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tudor Balțoi. Timbau CSM's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastian Villa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elemér Udvarhelyi in the 14th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tudor Balțoi having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Elemér Udvarhelyi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lautaro Navarro. The goal made the score 1-1. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Moises Tafalla hit a great ball. In the 24th minute Cristi Ionășescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 minutes of play, Timbau CSM's Cristi Ionășescu made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 27 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Cristi Ionășescu came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Tudor Balțoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Timbau CSM's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tudor Balțoi came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristi Ionășescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timbau CSM's Ferdinand Jupân couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 45th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Honduras. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

61 minutes into the game, Fabian Ilinca threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Sebastian Villa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Tudor Balțoi. Elemér Udvarhelyi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Timbau CSM booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentín Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Espigas short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Tudor Balțoi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 73 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Elemér Udvarhelyi came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmundo Espiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tudor Balțoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmundo Espiga ran back to his position shaking his head. Edmundo Espiga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Tudor Balțoi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 84th minute Elemér Udvarhelyi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Honduras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ferdinand Jupân was slow to take the kick. During this time Timbau CSM's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ferdinand Jupân almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro did a great save. Timbau CSM's Tudor Balțoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 95th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Honduras walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
