When Canada's Koby Wright, in the 23rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Canada. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Santiago Abreu made the kick off in the second half. Iker Madrid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rohan Watson in the 61st minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Canada fully deserved thier win.
