The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kurt Nordgren charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sobah Conchas was the one to do the kick off. Skene's supporters rose to their feet, but Per Johansson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 67 minutes into the game, Per Johansson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Skene's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. If Per Johansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gregory Mäder made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Skene fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Skene's Sobah Conchas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Gregory Mäder made a huge save. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Sobah Conchas got free in front of the goal in the 94th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jonathan Ferrant was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The supporters of Skene booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Skene's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
