In the 11th minute, Dieguito Maradona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in LA LUZ F.C.'s zone, Monty Rogers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Ángel Torres came out of the goal and Monty Rogers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute, Felipe Haitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th match minute, LA LUZ F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Haitz to maneuver through the defense. Cassius Byrne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Ángel Torres read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, LA LUZ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Miguel Ángel Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on LA LUZ F.C.'s corner Dieguito Maradona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marco Day quite easily take care of the ball. 36 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when LA LUZ F.C.'s Dieguito Maradona fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Cassius Byrne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Teo Venceslas came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the LA LUZ F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teo Venceslas couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

LA LUZ F.C.'s Atilla Açıkalın was substituted for Dieguito Maradona. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Atilla Açıkalın to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Atilla Açıkalın hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cassius Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Miguel Ángel Torres made a huge save. Jailson Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Britto in the 66th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of LA LUZ F.C. booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Brown didn't get a good kick on the ball. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. In the 72ndth minute of the game Atilla Açıkalın who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Marco Day was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Miguel Ángel Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Campbell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, LA LUZ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edward Mcdonald came free, but Miguel Ángel Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Ángel Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilla Açıkalın, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. A nice corner shot did that Ivan Menendo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Day quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. LA LUZ F.C.'s Miguel Ángel Torres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save LA LUZ F.C. from getting a goal against them. Many of USA's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. USA may have spent more time on the ball, but LA LUZ F.C. were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
