The mood of the audience was pleasant when Waldemar Wodaszak made the kick off which started today's match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. After 15 played minutes Rakieta Solanka got a freekick which was hit by Ignacy Jajko. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Izydor Kensicki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Izydor Kensicki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stasio Czech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Klement Gniech was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stasio Czech dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Eliseo Noboa came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Noboa couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the match, Rakieta Solanka's Damian Gierasik sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Damian Gierasik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Eskil Danielsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute of the game Abel Carballo made a throw-in which Eliseo Noboa played forward.
