In the 29th minute Safet Jovanović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Safet Jovanović left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CACYFA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Luis Quirce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by CACYFA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. 41 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Czornomaz came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ahmet Kadri Adılhan got free with Dante Lacasa in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, CACYFA's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Luis Quirce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Luca Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Quirce having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luis Quirce, 2-2. With a little luck, CACYFA's Luis Quirce got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. CACYFA's Luis Quirce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 68th minute of play. CACYFA's Alfredo Emeterio was substituted for Ahmet Kadri Adılhan. CACYFA made a substitution. Saul Itzaina replaced Atilano Jerico. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Luis Quirce successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luis Quirce quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Benigno Amor fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CACYFA's protests and gave Benigno Amor a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to CACYFA getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Benigno Amor hit a great ball. Luis Quirce made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Facundo Cadaval sent off a good shot on target. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Jorrin in the 81st minute of the match. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luis Quirce. CACYFA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Gaona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Emeterio in the 90th minute of the match. Luis Quirce made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 92nd minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Emeterio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
