Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Amancio Bilintx made the kick off which started today's match. Tadeo Jakobe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Cristobal Estavan made a huge save. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Cristobal Estavan made a huge save. When Newell´s's Tadeo Jakobe in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Cristobal Estavan made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Cristobal Estavan in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Amancio Bilintx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Cristobal Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Cristobal Estavan however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Luis Andino sped through Newell´s's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cristobal Estavan. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeo Jakobe in the 35th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Omar Cordara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Bilintx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Newell´s's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Indiana Turban in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristobal Estavan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Newell´s's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 55th minute, Omar Cordara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Cristobal Estavan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Newell´s getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Omar Cordara hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 63rd minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isidoro Ramires hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Tadeo Jakobe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tadeo Jakobe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 75 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Omar Cordara. Cristobal Estavan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Cristobal Estavan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Luis Andino took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristobal Estavan. Cristobal Estavan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. The supporters of Newell´s booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Bilintx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Amancio Bilintx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. In the 94th minute Amancio Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ecuador had played much better football throughout.
