Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Amancio Bilintx kicked off to start the match. Omar Cordara scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Amancio Bilintx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amancio Bilintx in the 10th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas scored 1-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristobal Estavan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Venegas struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Cristobal Estavan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Costa scored 1-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristobal Estavan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 28th minute of play. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Tadeo Jakobe sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Omar Cordara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newell´s's supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Cordara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 38 minutes into the game, Amancio Bilintx recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Amancio Bilintx showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Rigoberto Mina put in a rough tackle. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-2.

The wind increased when Patricio Costa made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amancio Bilintx in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 55th minute, Amancio Bilintx left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newell´s fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. The audience was convinced that Amancio Bilintx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Amancio Bilintx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Newell´s's Omar Cordara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th minute of the game Fernan Crescencio made a throw-in which Indiana Turban played forward. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Tadeo Jakobe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. When Tadeo Jakobe came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Newell´s fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeo Jakobe couldn't finish the play. Amancio Bilintx succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 7-2. 84 minutes into the match, Tadeo Jakobe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tadeo Jakobe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-2. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeo Jakobe in the 88th minute of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Tadeo Jakobe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newell´s's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeo Jakobe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Clemente Benat charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clemente Benat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Newell´s getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Clemente Benat hit a great ball. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
