El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 40 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Dalmu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. In the 79th minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guaberto Isaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Tuta Torres took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Ricardo Zorita to make any attempt to save it. Chants of Los Laguneros de AT echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as El Salvador had held the ball for most of the match.
