Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Pedrão de Amorim sent off a good shot on target. In the 24th minute SoS FC were awarded a corner. Christer Bratt went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led SoS FC's Run Run to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, SoS FC's Run Run got a free kick in the 26th minute. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Pedrão de Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedrão de Amorim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. In the 40th minute, Leonardo Leoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 41 in the game by Pedrão de Amorim from a close distance when the talented Dante Lacasa managed to make a qualified save. Mexico's players were relieved. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedrão de Amorim was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th match minute, SoS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Gâgea to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Erik Larsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 58th minute of the match. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after SoS FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Karl-Erik Larsson quite easily take care of the ball. SoS FC's Karl-Erik Larsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when SoS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Jelm didn't get a good kick on the ball. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 76th minute, but Karl-Erik Larsson got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving SoS FC hanging dry this time. After a rather tough play, SoS FC's Run Run got a free kick in the 80th minute. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot.
