Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedrão de Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Karl-Erik Larsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrão de Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Karl-Erik Larsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When SoS FC's Pedrão de Amorim in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After 45 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. A collision led to SoS FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Christer Bratt hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Camilo Gisbert made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luis Andino however managed to control. In the 64th minute, Pedrão de Amorim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl-Erik Larsson having to make a save. SoS FC's Kalle Alin was substituted for Guaberto Tudela. 69 minutes in the game Camilo Gisbert did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Agustín Saelices. In the 71st minute Tommy Boylin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Erik Larsson made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Tommy Boylin took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 84 minutes into the match, SoS FC's Tommy Boylin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marek Jaraczewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A nice corner shot did that Christer Bratt got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 91 played minutes Christer Bratt shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Ecuador's Julio Vera to catch but Christer Bratt was lucky. It became 2-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. In the 95th minute of the match SoS FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christer Bratt ran over to the corner to take the kick. Christer Bratt made a great header on SoS FC's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. The SoS FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
