With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fryderyk Grucza in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Fabrício Lustosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute of the match USA got a corner. Academia Monte Gordo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Adérito Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jenson Smith kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Fryderyk Grucza struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Monte Gordo. Mao Zhen Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 34 minutes Academia Monte Gordo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cassius Byrne who took care of the corner kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 53rd minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adérito Abreu in the 55th minute of play. Academia Monte Gordo made a substitution. In the 89th minute, Simon Matsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Jenson Smith managed to get in a good position for a shot. USA's supporters rose to their feet, but Jenson Smith was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mao Zhen Hong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adélio Infante, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
